Trompe l'oeil is designed to deceive the eye and has to be produced with great precision. Positioned correctly in a room the effect is startling and adds depth, scale and style to a space which otherwise may have little of any of these qualities. Expense is a problem, our rule of thumb estimate is that you can double the price, (or the amount of work required) for every 12" that you move closer to the painting and still want the picture to have same convincing effect on the viewer. |
